The Commission on Elections(COMELEC), in partnership with the U.P. Law Institute of Government and Law Reform (UP IGLR), will hold a stakeholders forum and consultation dialogue on the use of A.I. technology in election campaigns. The one-day forum, entitled “A.I. and Philippine Elections Decoded”, will gather around 200 key election management officials, experts in A.I. technology, industry leaders, international and local election stakeholders such as accredited citizens’ arms, civil society organizations, political parties, party list organizations, and the legal academic community, to discuss the threats posed by the misuse of A.I. technology and deepfakes in our electoral processes.
The forum will also explore tools, mechanisms, best practices, and the sound legal framework for policy formulation and administration of relevant election laws.
