The UP Law Center Institute of Government and Law Reform (UP IGLR) conducted a study tour and learning course last 24-27 June 2024 for members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) and the Ministry of Finance, and Budget and Management of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in the Basque Country, Kingdom of Spain. In partnership with the University of Deusto, participants attended lectures on the Basque Country’s history, unique tax system and autonomies in Spain, and the features of cooperatives and their benefits and impact. The Delegation also visited various government institutions and interfaced with officials of the Basque Country to have further understanding of its government structure and regional economic and financial system.
